A reinterpretation inspired by Apollo and Daphne, transformed into a laurel tree, by Nicolas-Sébastien Adam. Sébastien Adam.
Reminder: Apollo, consumed by love, pursues Daphne, who pleads with her father Peneus to save her. In her desperate flight, her body freezes, her bark hardens, and her arms turn into branches: she transforms into a laurel tree. Defeated yet fascinated, Apollo makes this tree an eternal symbol of glory and unfulfilled desire.
